A Power Saver Pocket PC
The Benefits for Your Handheld.
When you use your pocket PC often you will run into the problem of your battery running low on power. Times like these call for special programs that allow you to conserve your PDA's power. There are different programs on the market, but they achieve the same basic result of allowing your battery power to last longer. Getting a power saver for your pocket pc may be the best buy you make.
A power saving program works quite simply. You can activate the program to turn off your screen allowing your battery power to be saved. While your PDA is in power saving mode you can still do some tasks, such as, listening to music, managing files or talking on the phone (if it is a PDA/cell phone combo. These programs are designed to allow you to save battery power while doing tasks that do not require the use of the screen.
There are many charging options, but you usually have to put your PDA down and can not use it while charging. This is a hassle especially if you wanting to use it for long periods of time, but always seem to lose power. That is why you should look into a power saving program. If you one of those people who forget to turn your PDA off when you are not using it then these power saving programs may be your answer. They work well also for someone who likes to listen to music often. If you transfer or download files often then you may also benefit from a power saving program.
The two main power saving programs on the market are ControlIt! And Power Saver. ControlIt! Offers 4 modes - power off, screen off, soft reset and hard reset. The power off turns the power completely off. The screen off mode is what has been discussed here. It turns off the screen, but still allows you to operate some other functions. The soft reset and hard reset options control how you reactivate the screen. With soft being a simple touch of the screen and hard being where you have to touch a button. Power Saver works much the same as ControlIt! And has the same options. Both are inexpensive at around $2.00.
Adding a power saving program to your PDA is a good choice if you find your power running low often. If you are forgetful or a person who use their PDA mostly for music or file transfers will greatly benefit from this sort of program. ControlIt! And Power Saver both offer nice options that are sure to work for your PDA. The bottom line is that they are not expensive so it is worth trying.
