Using Network Neighborhood on Your Pocket PC.

When you go from using your personal computer to using a pocket pc you probably realized that while some things were different many others still stayed the same. One file you will find on both your personal computer and your pocket pc is the network neighborhood file. You may not have ever used the network neighborhood file on your personal computer, but it is very necessary for your pocket pc.

The network neighborhood file is not new to Microsoft. It is usually located under your control panel and usually during set up you will get the network neighborhood icon on your desktop. The network neighborhood allows you to hook to another computer so you can access the internet. You fill in some simple information and you can then connect to the internet through your personal computer. It comes as a standard part of the Microsoft software.

If your network neighborhood file is missing or not working properly you will not be able to access the internet. Because pocket pc's use another computer to access the internet - a process called networking - without the ability to connect to another computer you are unable to access the internet through your pocket pc. If you should have problems with this you can reinstall network neighborhood. In extreme cases you may have to do a hard reset to get back the lost information. Remember, though, a hard reset takes you back to the original factory settings and you lose any new programs or files you have added since you have had the pocket pc.

Network neighborhood is a really simple program to use. It usually runs without problems, except if a person manually messes with the program. It is an essential part of using your pocket pc to gain internet access. If you have Microsoft Windows then you have network neighborhood.
